Woman sentenced in 2023 stabbing

NORWALK — A New London woman has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for stabbing her wife last April in Norwalk. Kaitlynn G. Denson, 21, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony with a forfeiture specification, and one count of attempted burglary, a fourth-degree felony. The plea was made in exchange for the state's dismissal of two counts of first-degree attempting to commit murder, one count of third-degree felony felonious assault, and one count of second-degree felony burglary. Denson was sentenced to 4 years, 11 months in the state's prison and remanded to the custody of the sheriff. Denson was charged in the April 2023 stabbing of her wife at a home on Parsons Street. At approximately 11:08 p.m. on, April 30, 2023, police were called to 79 Parsons St. Apt. A. The caller stated an individual had been stabbed and the alleged assailant had fled the scene, according to police. The 25-year-old victim, also of New London, was transported by North Central EMS to Fisher-Titus Medical Center where she underwent surgery for multiple lacerations. After fleeing the area, Denson was located in Perkins Township by the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
