Huron County Court News Feb. 2, 2024 Mauricio Resendez, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of F-5 attempted failure to appear and one count of M-1 using weapons while intoxicated and was sentenced to three years community control, 90 days in the Huron County Jail to be served at times to be established by the Huron County Adult Probation Department, OR in the alternative, house arrest with electronic monitoring to be determined by the Huron County Adult Probation Department, at Defendant's cost, and forfeiture of his weapon. Resendez was ordered to report to adult probation. February 5, 2024 Kenneth L. Ansel, II, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of F-5 possession of fentanyl-related compound and was sentenced to three years community control with successful completion of up to six months in CBCF. Mr. Ansel was remanded to the custody of the sheriff. February 6, 2024 Joseph J. Blackburn, 46, pleaded guilty to one count of F-5 aggravated possession of drugs and was sentenced to three years community control, and ninety (90) days in the Huron County Jail to be served at times to be established by the Huron County Adult Probation Department, OR in the alternative, house arrest with electronic monitoring to be determined by the Huron County Adult Probation Department, at Defendant's cost. Mr. Blackburn was ordered to report to adult probation. Feb. 7, 2023 Robert James Goetz, 66, was sentenced on one count of F-4 assault, one count of M-1 aggravated menacing, and one count of F-5 ethnic intimidation to three years community control, 9 days in the Huron County Jail, and an additional 90 days the Huron County Jail to be served at times to be established by the Huron County Adult Probation Department, OR in the alternative, house arrest with electronic monitoring to be determined by the Huron County Adult Probation Department, at Defendant's cost. Mr. Goetz was ordered to report to adult probation. Dearis R. Ross, 22, admitted to violations of community control. His community control was revoked and he was sentenced to 18 months in ODR. Mr. Ross was remanded to the custody of the sheriff.
