Willard routs P.C. in Bay win

WILLARD — The state-ranked Willard boys basketball team remained one game off first-place Margaretta with Friday's 76-45 win over the visiting Redskins in an SBC Bay Division game inside Robert L. Haas Gymnasium. Max Dawson paced Willard (13-3, 5-1) — ranked No. 10 in the latest Division II Associated Press poll — with a game-high 26 points, while Jackson Beamer made four 3s and scored 14 points to go with Cam Robinson's 16. Willard will again look to stay within a game of the Polar Bears at home Monday night in a rescheduled SBC Bay contest against Huron (7-7, 3-3). Clyde improved to 4-13 overall and 1-6 in the Lake with the win. The victory came after the Fliers erupted for 93 points in a win over Edison on Tuesday. For Norwalk (10-7, 3-4), Mason Gamble finished with a game-high 17 points. Dalton Chapin added 10 and Garrett Demuth scored eight. Norwalk returns home on Saturday to host Mansfield Madison.
