Artists' Open Studio hosts new exhibit

NORWALK — This year marks the 19th annual art exhibit at the Artists' Open Studio in downtown Norwalk. This year's exhibit "Visions Revealed" showcases a variety of artwork from local artists, including paintings, sculptures, pottery and more. This is a huge opportunity for artists to be able to showcase their new and best artworks and share it with the community," managing director Jackie Hug said. "This is our nineteenth year doing this and it has been amazing to see our progress." The exhibit will run until November 4, and visitors can stop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. "The exhibit is up for a month and open for the public to view the artwork," Hug said. "All the sold pieces will stay until the end so people can still see them. There really is something for everyone here." Some of the pieces have already been sold, but visitors can still view all the artwork until the end of the exhibit. Those who are not interested in purchasing artwork are still invited to stop in and view it and the exhibit is free to attend. "It's important for the community in general to be engaged in the arts and for diverse artists to have a voice," Hug said. "We just want to continue to support them and their artistic visions even if you're not coming here to purchase art, just to be around it and view it and get to know the artist and be a part of our community."
