Bacon on Dean's List at Kent

KENT — William (Liam) Kent Bacon, a graduate of South Central High School and John Phillip Sousa honored trumpet player, was listed on the Kent State Dean's List for spring 2023. He is studying to be a band director and serves Kent State band as its drum major, In high school, he played with jazz band, concert band and marching band as first chair trumpet all four years. His parents are Suzanne and Barney Bacon, of Greenwich. Olivia Martinez Named to PSAC Scholar-Athlete List Olivia Martinez, of Bellevue, was named to the 2022-23 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete award list. Martinez is a student at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg and a Women's Golf student-athlete. Student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 upon completion of the academic year to be eligible for the PSAC Scholar-Athlete Award. Overall, the PSAC honored 3,794 student-athletes from the league's 18 institutions after the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year as PSAC Scholar-Athletes.
