GoFundMe started for expenses of fire victim

NORWALK — A GoFundMe account has been set up to help following Wednesday's tragic fire in town where an 8-year-old boy was killed and his 12-year-old step-brother was severely burned. The family is paying the expenses for the funeral of the 8-year-old boy, Wyatt Duchette, who lost his life in Wednesday afternoon's fire on Main Street in Norwalk. The GoFundMe account, according to a friend of the family, is going toward the medical expenses of Wyatt's step-brother, Paxton. "It breaks my heart writing this. Never would someone believe a tragedy like this could happen to their family but it has to mine because Wednesday, June 7th, a house fire destroyed my family's world. I do not know how to put into words the grief and sorrow we are feeling at the loss of my nephew Wyatt," wrote Jessica Jones. "Burying a loved one is never easy but burying a child is far from fair. Nobody wants to ask for help but here I am. None of us knows what step to take in this process. We are all still in shock. My other nephew Paxton is currently being treated for severe burns over his face, and upper body. "My sister also suffered injuries. With the blessing of Wyatt and Paxton's mother (my sister) and Paxton's father I am asking for help with funeral costs and medical expenses. We appreciate all of the love and support and prayers we are receiving from everyone." As of Saturday morning, the GoFundMe account had raised $19,2810 and has a goal of $20,000. The GoFundMe account is named "Wyatt and Paxton fund."
