Edison High School inducts new members to National Honor Society

MILAN — The faculty and staff of Edison High School were proud to celebrate the achievements of 23 seniors and 25 juniors on Thursday April 13, at their annual National Honor Society induction. The ceremony featured senior speeches on the NHS emblem, and its four pillars — Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. The seniors also took some time to thank their own parents for all the support that they have given throughout their education. This recognition is the highest honor you can achieve at Edison High School. Marina Moore's speech on scholarship focused on three concepts she feels encapsulate scholarship: growth, opportunities, and effort. Delaney Lococo spoke on how, to be a leader, you must create a path and "when others are too scared or timid to step out onto this new path, you must walk with them side-by-side, until they can stand on their own." Morgan Moon encouraged her classmates to make service a vital component of their lives to both better themselves and the community around them; and Evelyn Gall told her peers that character does not come easy and therefore must be worked on day-in and day-out, but that this character is the legacy that you leave behind once you leave Edison High School. Twenty-nine students were inducted into full membership after meeting the criteria for Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character set forth by the Constitution of the Edison High School chapter of National Honor Society. These students will continue their work next year by continuing to uphold these high standards. Next year's officers will be President Samuel McClester, Vice President Noah Proctor, Treasurer Victoria Metz, and Secretary Lillian Kreglow. The ceremony was also the culmination of a year of hard work for the seniors as they did individual service, continued a high level of scholarship, and worked together for a group service project. The seniors this year choose to continue the project started two years ago, which was adding color to Edison High School by putting a fresh coat of paint on classrooms that needed it. Leading this year's seniors were President Peyton Facemire, Vice President Delaney Lococo, Treasurer Morgan Moon, and Secretary Ava Miller. The new members of Edison High School's chapter of National Honor Society are: Mary Anderson, Madison Butler, Parker Campbell, Nadia Cantelli, Emily Daneker, James Daneker, Jeffrey Esser, Clint Finnen, Evelyn Gall, Andrew Gray, Keira Keoghan, Chase King, Lillian Kreglow, Madison Kuhl, Audrey Linder, Jonah Main, Samuel McClester, Marcus Medina, Mallory Meister, Victoria Metz, Kaden Neate, Noah Proctor, Avery Rutherford, Troy Rutherford, Carter Schaefer, Carson Smith, Raven Swain, Meredith Unger and Karin Wlodarsky.
