Local artists show off their work

NORWALK — It is a big month for everyone at the second annual "Colors of Spring Exhibit," sponsored by the Artists' Open Studio in Norwalk. The event runs through April 29 at the studio, located at 32 E. Main St. "Our opening reception was a big opportunity for people to come in and see what we do," AOS managing director Jackie Hug said. "It was a good turnout of people from the community and artists." Hug said this has been a good week with spring break and local students dropping in. All are welcome to see all of the good things going on. "People can see what we are doing and what the artists have to offer," she said. Artists from all around the area as far as Medina come to the studio. Wrapping up the event will be a workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 29. The class will teach people to paint with your mouth like AOS artist Summer Braddock. Despite Braddock's physical disabilities, it doesn't stop her from painting and it is impressive to watch her work, Hug said. AOS will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. "We are hoping it is a big year for us," Hug said. "There is a lot to celebrate."
