Dora Wilbur, Guest Author

NORWALK — Local author Dora Wilbur came to Christian Day Nursery School recently to read her book "Benjamin and Bon Bon Explore Winter." The children also did activities that went along with the book. The activities were: • Ice Skating — The children pretended their paper plates were ice skates and shuffled around the ice rink in the Fellowship Hall. • Dog House Relay — Each child had two bones and through a relay had to run to the dog house and put in their bone. • Snowball Fight — Each child received two yard fleece white snowballs. Classes were divided in half and the children threw the snowballs (yard balls) at each other. • Craft Activity — Children got to pick either a yellow, orange or brown paper plate and then glue on the eyes, nose, mouth and ears for the dog. Wilbur, of Norwalk, has a series of books where Benjamin and Bon Bon explore Winter, Summer and Fall. The characters in the books are named after Dora's nieces and nephews. She also has a book "Lessons from Amy" which is a devotional to encourage mothers of special needs children.
