Young Entrepreneurs' Market Saturday

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Area Museum has joined with Village Roots Marketplace in an initiative to foster the spark of entrepreneurship among youths between the ages of 8 to 17. To that end, the Plymouth Area Museum will host a "Young Entrepreneurs' Market" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 11, in the museum's community room. Admission to the market is free to the public. This is the second "Young Entrepreneurs' Market" in the past several months and its objective is to fuel the passion in the minds of young businessmen and businesswomen who represent the next generation of local business owners. Participants will feature their talents in a variety of arts, crafts, specialty foods, paintings, pet care products, home décor, and accessories. The market is limited to youngsters 8 to 17 years of age and all items must be hand made. The registration fee of $10 includes a table and two chairs, but each participant is responsible for creating his or her own unique display area. Only 15 spaces are available and interested entrepreneurs should message the Village Roots Facebook page to register. Annual Meeting and Program PLYMOUTH — The annual meeting of the Plymouth Area Historical Society will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, March 20, in the Plymouth Museum's community room. Following the business meeting, the public is invited to attend a program entitled "The History of Plymouth in Pictures" presented by local historian Brett Dunbar. Dunbar is known throughout the area for his research on streetcars and the Interurban line that served Erie, Huron and Richland counties during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Dunbar's program will feature 100 photos of Plymouth from the 1870's through the 1930's, most of which have never before been seen. These photos are part of Dunbar's recent project to make digital copies of pictures from old glass plate negatives that depict area history. The photos feature street scenes, school pictures, industry, the interurban, and businesses. The program will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free to the public. 2nd annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Area Museum's 2nd annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 18, at the Plymouth American Legion, 112 Trux Street, Plymouth. The menu includes spaghetti with homemade red sauce and hand-rolled meatballs; salad, bread sticks and desserts provided by Plymouth's Cheesecake Lady,and food will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. or until sold out. This year's event will also feature live music by the Jeffery Boyd Trio and a raffle for a whole hog, donated by LRB Trucking, as well as 2 handmade quilts, gift baskets and gift certificates. Dine-in or carry-out. Price is by donation only. All proceeds will go toward new exhibits at the Plymouth Area Museum. The Plymouth Area Historical Society is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
