Willard wins at Oak Harbor to stay in first place

OAK HARBOR — The Willard boys basketball team remained alone in first place in the SBC Bay Division after a host start carried it to a 67-45 win on Saturday at Oak Harbor. With the win, the Crimson Flashes improved to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the Bay. Willard led 16-6 after one quarter, and also outscored the Rockets (3-5, 1-2) by 10 in the third quarter as well. Cam Robinson and Max Dawson each scored 19 points for the Flashes Also for Willard, which visits Carey on Tuesday, Isaac Robinson and Alex Strayer each scored 11 points. Monroeville led 30-16 at halftime and kept Plymouth (1-6, 1-3) from drawing much closer in the second half. Jimmy Clingman scored a game-high 23 points for Monroeville, while Gabe Howell scored 15 and Aidan Goodwin added 10. Carson Tucker led the Big Red with 16 points. The Eagles will play their fourth of six straight conference games when they host Western Reserve on Friday.
