Still time to order Light up Norwalk swag

NORWALK — Light up Norwalk will be offering some swag this year thanks to Foghorn Designs. The Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Foghorn Designs to make available T-shirts, hats, hoodies, scarves and other apparel to commemorate the city's annual event, set for Nov. 26. Those interested in buying can go to the temporary online store offered by Foghorn Designs. The still will be open until 11:59 on Nov. 6. "We set Nov. 6 as the cutoff date because it really is the last day we can take orders and still be able to get the products in the customers' hands in time for Light Up Norwalk," Foghorn Design owner Trevor Rood said. A portion of the profits made during the sale will go directly to the Chamber of Commerce to help with its programs, according to Rood. "This is something that we decided to do to help a good cause," Rood said. "The chamber does a lot of great work to help local businesses and I believe it is important to do what we can to help." Some of the designs on the apparel will be familiar to Norwalk aficionados. One of the designs includes a giant sloth, which Rood explains is a homage to sloth bones found in 1998 in the collections of the Firelands Historical Society Museum in Norwalk. "The Firelands Historical Society had a nine-and-a-half-foot prehistoric giant sloth on display," Rood said.
