Norwalk soccer teams blank Clyde

NORWALK — The Norwalk High School boys soccer team blasted visiting Clyde by a 13-0 score Wednesday night, setting itself up for a big stretch in SBC Lake Division play. The Truckers had 11 different players score the 13 goals in the rout at Contractors Stadium at the Warren C. Whitney Complex. With the win, Norwalk improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the league. Corbin Sigg and Erik Rangle-Negrete scored twice for Norwalk in Wednesday's win. The trio of Omar Dominguez, Landon Ferkel and Juan Martinez scored once and finished with two assists each. Braedyn Demuth, Cameron Shoop and Spencer Colahan each had one goal and one assist, while Ben Snyder, Marco Sanchez and Devyn Emmons scored one goal each. Mason Gamble added an assist. The Truckers are now off until next Monday when it entertains Vermilion (4-3, 3-0) for sole possession of first place in the league. GIRLS SOCCER Norwalk 4, Clyde 0 NORWALK — The Truckers blanked the Fliers in the girls match as well on Wednesday. Joscey Thomas, Kassidy Temple, Hannah Steffanni and Abby Koenig each scored one goal for the Norwalk. Alexys Daniels and Joscey Thomas each had one assist, while Lilly Farmer made eight saves at goalkeeper. The Truckers improved to 4-2 overall with the win, including a 3-0 mark in the Lake Division. Norwalk will host Lexington (2-2-3) on Monday in a non-league matchup. BOYS GOLF Norwalk fourth at SBC Lake shootout SANDUSKY — Bellevue edged Columbian by one stroke, 165-164, to win the SBC Lake shootout on Wednesday at Mills Creek. Clyde (180) was third, followed by Norwalk (182), Vermilion (186), Perkins (186) and Sandusky (264). For Norwalk, Avery Scheel led the team with a 41, followed by Dylan Pigman and Tanner Harp with a pair of 46s. Bray Malson had a 49, followed by Spencer Shutt (53) and Evan Minor (53). The final Lake Division shootout is next Wednesday at Green Hills in Clyde.
