Norwalk girls fourth at SBC Lake Shootout

CLYDE — The Norwalk girls golf team finished third out of six teams on Tuesday at an SBC Lake Shootout hosted by Bellevue at Green Hills golf course. The Truckers totaled a 223, which was behind Perkins (207), Bellevue (210) and Vermilion (221). Oak Harbor (238), Clyde (240), Columbian (261) and Sandusky (271) rounded out the field. For Norwalk, Katie Wolcott led the way with a 53 and Hayley Zagor had a 54. Kilee Duncan and Analiese King each shot 58s, and the line up was rounded out by Gracie Wiegel (66) and Lexie Swick (67). Edison third in Bay Shootout WILLARD — The Chargers shot a 182 on Tuesday to finish behind Hopewell-Loudon (176) and Tiffin Calvert (180) at the SBC Bay Shootout held at the Willard Golf Club. Leading the Chargers was Madison Butler with a 40, followed by Mallory Meister (44) and Anna Smith (48). Also for Edison, Meredith Unger had a 50, followed by Elena McCord with a 55 and Jaylah Weaver with a 74. The host Crimson Flashes totaled a 265 on Tuesday. Lauryn Stover had a 59, followed by Electa McKelvey (64), Emma Whitright (68), Reese Bedingfield (74) and Araceli Obando (81). BOYS GOLF New London 188, Mapleton 196 ASHLAND — The Wildcats improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Firelands Conference with Tuesday's win over the Mounties at Brookside Golf Course. Carter Eibel was match medalist with a 41, while Tate Landis shot a 46 and Grady Heileman added a 48. Rounding out the New London lineup was Jayson Schaffer (53), Jacob Myers (53) and Kendyl Moffit (55). New London is back in FC action Tuesday when it hosts Crestview at Millstone Hills.
