Foundation grants are available

NORWALK — Earlier this year, the Huron County Community Foundation distributed more than $75,000 in grants to local nonprofits, and it's doing it again. The grant application is now open for Round 2 and Huron County nonprofits are invited to apply. Round 2 applications are due Aug. 15 and more info can be found at https://www.huronccf.org/ grants. Projects awarded earlier this year included children's literacy programs, increased access to trails and recreation, arts and cultural events, feral cat spay and neutering, and a variety of others projects that meet critical needs. Projects funded through the Community Foundation are intended to create a thriving community and better the quality of life in Huron County. The Community Foundation encourages proposals for projects that collaborate among Huron County organizations, build organizational capacity, leverage additional resources, demonstrate sustainability, and address community needs. The minimum grant awards are $1,000 with a general range of $1,000 to $5,000 and are typically awarded for one year only. Grant projects must serve Huron County residents. The Huron County Community Foundation has distributed more than $1.3 million in grants to local organizations since its inception.
