Janet C. (Cross) Meinert

Janet C. Meinert, 87, residing in Sandusky passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness. Janet was born on Sept. 11, 1934, in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late John and Cleo (Snow) Cross Sr. Janet was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She retired from the former Sandusky Plastics Plant in 1999 after more than 30 years of service. Janet enjoyed traveling, knitting crafts for her grandchildren, reading, but most enjoyed her time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. Janet is survived by her four children, Karen (Warren) Carothers of Bronson, Florida, Kirk (Vickie) Meinert of Wakeman, Ohio, David (Karen) Meinert of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Dennis Meinert of Sandusky, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Cross Jr. of Round Lake, Illinois and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford H. Meinert in 1997 and her sister, Patricia Wetzel. Friends may call on from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home on Thursday, June 2, 2002. Pastor Stacy Lauer-Scovanner will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
