Thomas 'Tom' W. Osborn

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Florida — Thomas "Tom" W. Osborn, 80, of Keystone Heights, Florida, passed away at his home, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Norwalk to the late William A. and Vletta C. (Grills) Osborn. Following his high school graduation in 1959, Tom then attended Bowling Green State University. In 1961, he enlisted with the United States Navy serving his country until 1965 when he was honorably discharged. Prior to retirement, Mr. Osborn had been employed with AT&T for 25 years as their communications technician. Growing up, he was active in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts. He enjoyed reading, motorcycles and dogs. Mr. Osborn and his wife, Mary, enjoyed traveling which led them to making Keystone Heights their home many years ago. Mr. Osborn was a member of Melrose United Methodist Church, Highway Patrol Auxiliary Troop "B" in Gainesville for eight years, NRA and NRA Golden Eagles. He was also a life member of American Motorcycle Association, Telephone Pioneers and United Sportsman of Florida. Mr. Osborn is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Mary (Silcox) Osborn of Keystone Heights; three aunts; four nieces and nephew in-laws; 18 great-nieces and nephew in-laws and four great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Osborn will occur 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, in First United Methodist Church of Starke with Pastor Mike Moore officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Interment will occur privately at Eliam Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift to the charity of your choice may be made.
