Thomas W. Loyer

Thomas W. Loyer, 72, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 19, 1949, in Cleveland, to the late Bernard and Carmella (Grizzanti) Loyer. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Afterward, he joined the Air Force National Guard Red Horse Division at Camp Perry and became an accomplished electrician. While not working he enjoyed helping family members and friends with any projects needing to be done. He was a father figure to anyone that did not necessarily have one. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice (Meter) Loyer of Norwalk; children, Lyndsay Loyer and Matthew Schramm of Norwalk, Dawn Hush of Port Clinton, Allison Libengood of Elyria; grandchildren; and his siblings, Michael Loyer, Maria Hackathorn and Renee Whitney, all of Norwalk. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, William Loyer; and brothers, Daniel, Steve and Bernard. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Townsend Township Hall followed by a reception for all family and friends.
