Fry retires after 20 years on police force

NORWALK — Sergeant Seth Fry of the Norwalk Police Department retired Friday after serving the citizens of Norwalk for more than years. Sergeant Fry was hired as a reserve officer on July 5, 1999, and worked in the position of an emergency full-time patrolman from Oct. 30, 2002, to Nov. 1, 2003, filling in for an injured officer. He was hired full time as a patrol officer on Aug. 9, 2004. After working patrol for several years, Fry was assigned to the detective bureau in July of 2011. He was promoted to sergeant on April 9, 2012, and after a short assignment as a patrol sergeant, he returned to the detective bureau until he returned to road patrol on Oct. 28, 2021. While serving as a detective with the department, Sgt. Fry's primary duty was the investigation of drug-related crimes. He was also involved in various other types of investigations while working as a detective, including two homicides. Sergeant Fry was also the department's representative to METRICH, and a former member of the department's Special Response Team. "The department would like to thank Sgt. Fry for his many years of diligence and service to the citizens of Norwalk, congratulate him on his retirement and wish him well in his future aspirations," said Capt. Jim Fulton.
