Balanced scoring leads Western past Plymouth

COLLINS — The Western Reserve girls basketball team had eight different players score in a balanced 58-29 win over Plymouth on Friday at home in Firelands Conference action. Isabelle Duchette led Western Reserve (3-2, 2-0) with 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Lilli White was also in double figures with 10 points, while Bella Thornburg scored eight points. Also for the 'Riders, Maddy Kolb had seven points and 11 rebounds, and Katie Woodruff scored seven points. Plymouth (0-6, 0-2) senior Erin Stevens led the way in defeat with 14 points. It was a Firelands Conference opener for Monroeville, which had a delayed start to the season after a deep volleyball postseason run. Leading 15-11 at halftime, the Eagles used a 19-12 scoring edge in the third quarter to take control. Mallory Roeder made three 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Eagles. Graisyn Yoder scored 10, while Stacey Legg added nine. New London fell to 0-6 and 0-2 in FC play with the loss. Emilee Rowland scored 11 points for the Wildcats, while Madison Rowland scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds, and Alyssa Henry added seven points. Angela Williams scored 14 points and Annie Cook added nine for the Trojans. Crestview 54, St. Paul 29 OLIVESBURG — The Cougars remained unbeaten in the FC with Friday's win over the Lady Flyers. Maddy McCall finished with 17 of her team's 29 points, followed by Megan Lesch with five points. With the loss, St. Paul fell to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the FC. BOYS BASKETBALL Oak Harbor 59, Edison 45 MILAN — The Chargers trailed just 36-34 through three quarters, but the Rockets outscored them by a 23-11 margin in the fourth quarter of Friday's SBC Bay Division game. Edison was outscored 19-3 at the free-throw line in the loss. Kayden Bouget scored 10 points for the Chargers, while Brady Barker and Troy Rutherford reach scored nine.
