Huron County Public Health contributes to park

NORWALK — The Creating Healthy Communities (CHC) program at Huron County Public Health is proud to have contributed a small piece to the massive revitalization of McGuan Park, completed by the city of Norwalk Parks & Rec Department with support of numerous donors. Huron County CHC was able to contribute a piece of equipment called the "Accessible Whirl" to the park. The "Accessible Whirl" is an all-inclusive spinner that is built level to the ground, allowing for two wheelchairs at once. An additional single seat is included for extra physical support for other children or caregivers. Huron County CHC would like to thank Norwalk Parks & Rec Department for allowing us to be involved in this project, along with Mayor Dave Light, who made this project possible. The city of Norwalk has been a great partner in furthering CHC's mission of increasing opportunities for physical activity that are accessible to all, and we look forward to continuing to work with them again in 2022. Grace Habeck, Program Coordinator for Huron County CHC, was able to attend the official opening event of the newly revitalized McGuan Park on Sunday, Oct. 31.
