Norwalk, Edison and Willard compete in SBC girls golf championships

FREMONT — The Norwalk High School girls golf team shot a 497 to place eighth out of nine teams on Tuesday at the SBC Lake Division championships hosted by the Fremont Country Club. Perkins won the league title with a 398, followed closely by Tiffin Columbian (404) in second. Rounding out the field was Clyde (417), Bellevue (427), Vermilion (435), Port Clinton (454), Sandusky (461), Norwalk (497) and Oak Harbor (577). For Norwalk, Kilee Duncan was the low scorer with a 58-60—118 total over 18 holes. She was followed by Hayley Zagor (60-64—124), Mya Binkley (63-63—126), Analiese King (69-60—129), Gracie Wiegel (70-71—141) and Kennedy Leto (75-71—146). In the SBC Bay championships, Edison (447) was sixth and Willard (483) was ninth. Hopewell-Loudon (388) won the tournament, followed by Gibsonburg (404), Danbury (424), St. Mary Central Catholic (425) and Tiffin Calvert (445) among the top five. For Edison, Ava Grant led the way with a 48-48—96. She was followed by Meredith Unger (61-52—113), Madison Butler (57-60—117), Anna Smith (63-58—121), Jamie Teed (59-64—123) and Mallory Meister 61-71—132. Willard was led by Marissa Rojas (55-60—115), Tatum Combs (63-56—119) and Allison Beebe (66-53—119). Brooklyn Rohrbach added a 62-68—130 and Lauryn Stover had a 70-64—134. TENNIS Edison 4, St. Mary C.C. 0 SANDUSKY — The Chargers swept Tuesday's SBC Bay Division match over the host Panthers. Alli Vogus defeated Haley Bahnsen (6-1, 6-1) at first singles for Edison, while Torri Keyser topped Gianna Polz (6-0, 6-1) at second singles and Emily Moore swept Sophia Swain (6-0, 6-0) at third singles. At second doubles, McKenna Shaffoe and Ally Gardner beat Kealy Kolar and Dessa Dante (6-2, 6-2). The first doubles match for Rianna Dingle and Tessa Otto did not finish.
