Meet the superintendent candidates Monday night

NORWALK — Local residents will get a chance to meet the final four candidates for the Norwalk City Schools superintendent's job at a meeting Monday night. The meeting is open to the public. Those attending may submit questions to Steve Horton OSBA in advance (shorton@ohioschoolboards.org) or they may also ask questions using cards provided by OSBA that night. The community and staff members will all be able to ask questions through Steve Horton. The meeting starts at 6 pm. in the Fisher-Titus Learning Center at Norwalk High School. Each candidate will give a 15-minute presentation on their plans for the future of Norwalk City Schools, followed by the questions. Here is the schedule for the four-hour meeting. Each candidate will get an hour: • Dr. Michael Zalar, Superintendent, North Olmsted Schools 6 p.m. • Jude Meyers, Superintendent, Gallia County Local 7 p.m. • Gary Swartz, Principal, Norwalk Middle School 8 p.m. • Brad Cooley, Principal, Norwalk High School 9 p.m. The board will interview Zalar and Meyers Monday night after their meetings with the public. Swartz and Cooley will be interviewed Thursday night. "Now is a great time for the people of our district to meet the final superintendent candidates," Board president Ralph Ritzenthaler said. "One of these gentlemen will be the next superintendent of Norwalk City Schools."
