Fulton, Fry complete leadership course

NORWALK — The Norwalk Police Department recognizes the hard work and dedication of Capt. James R. Fulton Jr. and Det. Sgt. Seth Fry for their successful completion of the eighth Public Safety Leadership Academy hosted at the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Training Academy in Columbus. Fulton and Fry join Capt. David Smith as graduates of the program. The Public Safety Leadership Academy is 10 weeks of accredited, college-level training through a partnership with The Ohio State University — John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Graduates of the program received 10 semester hours of academic credit, along with a certificate in Senior Leadership through The Ohio State University — John Glen College of Public Affairs. The specialized curriculum completed by the graduates is part of a carefully managed course with content in the areas of leadership and ethics; interpersonal and organizational communication; public management; organizational culture and ethics; human resources management; budgeting; and organizational behavior in law enforcement. "The members of the Norwalk Police Department, as well as Jim and Seth's families, have sorely missed them during their 10 weeks of training and are excited to have them back protecting and serving the citizens of Norwalk," Chief Mike Conney said. "We are confident the training they received will be of great benefit to them, the men and women of the Norwalk Police Department, and most importantly the people that call Norwalk home, and are looking forward to them putting what they have learned about leadership into practice."
