MILAN — Thomas Simon needed just 53 pitches to retire all 15 batters he faced on Monday in Edison's 10-0 win over visiting Willard in five innings in an SBC Bay Division matchup. Simon threw 43 of his 53 pitches for strikes, as he finished with eight strikeouts, six groundouts and one flyout over the 15 outs recorded for Edison (9-6, 5-1). Offensively, Dominic Dymond was 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Chargers. TRACK AND FIELD Monroeville girls fourth at Fostoria FOSTORIA — The Monroeville girls track and field team placed fourth with 62 points out of 12 teams on Saturday at the Fostoria Booster Invitational. Delaney Girls won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.46 seconds and Reece Kluding won the high jump (five feet). Braylee Wise was second in both the discus (103-feet-7) and shot put (33 feet). Also for the Eagles, Stacey Legg was fourth in the 100 (13.36) and fifth in the long jump (14-feet-2.5), while McKenna Dunlap was fourth in the 300 hurdles (53.33). The Monroeville 4x200 boys relay team of Owen Wadsworth, Cain Clark, Trevor Schafer and Josh Burrows placed fifth in 1:46.10.
