Lake Erie Construction vehicle involved in serious crash

LORAIN COUNTY — A Lake Erie Construction commercial vehicle was involved in an accident on U.S. 20 at Quarry Road. Four people were injured in the accident, which occurred about 5:34 a.m., and two vehicles were involved, according to a spokesman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The spokesman said the Pontiac went left of center, striking the commercial vehicle. The crash is still under investigation and contributing circumstances are undetermined at the time of publication. There was a passenger along with the driver in the Pontiac. Both were both transferred to area hospitals for serious injuries. One passenger was in critical condition and life-flighted to Cleveland Metro Hospital. The commercial vehicle had one passenger along with the driver, who both suffered non life-threatening injuries. Ken Bleile, safety director of Lake Erie, confirmed their vehicle was involved in the accident, but at the time of publication didn't know the status of those injured. "We hope anyone who was involved is OK," he said.
