Norwalk sweeps Sandusky for fifth Lake win

NORWALK — The Norwalk boys tennis team picked up another SBC Lake Division win on Thursday. Playing on a chilly afternoon at the Norwalk Middle School, the Truckers swept visiting Sandusky to improve to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the league. At first singles, Carson Colahan won in two sets over Tiernan Jesrani by scores of 6-0 and 6-3. Second singles saw Ashton Coe defeat Michael Franklin in two, 6-0, 7-6 (2). Ethan Brown defeated James Robinson at third singles (6-2, 6-4). The first doubles team of Dylan Peaco and Braden Lloyd dropped just one game in defeating Mason Hayberger and Ben Skavnak (6-1, 6-0). At second doubles, Bryan Sommers and Josh Newhouse also lost just one game in a win over Austin Ott and Adrik Purdy (6-1, 6-0). Norwalk was scheduled to host Perkins at 4:15 p.m. Friday to conclude the first round of Lake Division play. The Truckers then host Bellevue and Tiffin Columbian next Monday and Tuesday.
