Huron County: Construction update for week of April 19

NORWALK — The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Huron County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting. U.S. 20 resurfacing — U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass, from Ohio 61 to the end of the bypass at Cleveland Road, will have single-lane closures for a resurfacing project. NEW IMPACTS The U.S. 20 (Cleveland Road) ramp to U.S. 20 westbound will close Tuesday for pavement repairs. The detour route is U.S. 20 eastbound to Ohio 601 south, to Ohio 18 west, to U.S. 20 westbound. Estimated completion: Monday, April 26, 2021 (7-day closure). CONTINUING IMPACTS Crews will be utilizing signalized lane closures on South Norwalk Road and Ridge Road at the overhead structures above U.S. 20. Estimated completion of entire project: June 2021 U.S. Route 20 resurfacing — U.S. 20 eastbound and westbound, from Ohio 99 to Ohio 61, will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews will be completing full depth concrete repairs, partial depth asphalt repairs, milling, paving, minor structure repairs and guardrail. NEW IMPACTS West Street south, at the intersection with U.S. 20, will close Monday for full-depth concrete repairs as part of the U.S. 20 resurfacing project. Access to West Street will be maintained from Broad Street. Estimated completion: Wednesday (3-day closure). Ohio 547 ONLY at the southwest leg of the intersection at U.S. 20 will close Tuesday for full-depth concrete repairs as part of the U.S. 20 resurfacing project. The detour route for northeast motorists is Ohio 547 to Ohio 99, north on Ohio 99 to U.S. 20, southeast on U.S. 20 to Ohio 547, and reverse for southwest motorists.
