Romaine calm, Sheri's offers salads

NORWALK — Healthy and delicious lunches are now being sold at Sheri's Coffee House. Sheri's recently added salads to its menu that are fresh, healthy and ready to go. "We have salad bowls and grain bowls," owner Morgan Tucker said. "It's through a company called Chop-Drop based out of Huron." Chop-Drop is a ghost kitchen, which is a concept that doesn't actually have a headquarter and they are only available through online and apps. Tucker stated that "the concept has really emerged through the pandemic with everyone doing to-go orders." "We have seen a huge success on our mobile app. Customers can design their beverage to their specific specifications ... and why not add on lunch?" Tucker knew that through the pandemic people were looking to eat more healthy than ever, and at Sheri's they wanted to make the healthy options available. "We just want people to realize there is a really quick and easy way to grab something," Tucker said. The salads are premade four days a week, and new ones are available every day Tuesday through Friday. One cooler is for premade salads while another is for those ordered on the app. When ordered on the app they add a sticker with your name on it. While some salads have meat, there are plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Tucker said much of the staff is vegetarian so "we make sure there are vegetarian options." To top it off, the packing and silverware is eco-friendly. What's next for Sheri's Coffee House? While they are still disclosing what's brewing, Tucker did say that they are expanding and in the process of renovating the space next door at 25 Whittlesey Ave.
