NORWALK — The Sally de Forest Chapter Daughters of American Revolution will host an event at the Norwalk Eagles on March 13, 2021, at 11 am. This will be a joint meeting with members of the Sons of American Revolution from the Firelands Bicentennial Chapter. The speaker will be Pat Pell, Blue Star Mother, talking about "The History and Mission of the Blue Star Mothers." Patty is a founding member and past President of Chapter OH26, Cleveland, Ohio, charted in December of 2005. Firelands Co-op sponsoring safety contest NEW LONDON — Firelands Electric Cooperative invites students in kindergarten through fifth grade to enter its 2021 Electrical Safety Contest. Children living in a home that receives its power from the co-op are eligible to participate. To enter, students simply need to show off their knowledge of electrical safety by completing the crossword puzzle available in the March issue of Ohio Cooperative Living magazine and on Firelands Electric's website (www.firelandsec.com/contests). Alzheimer's Association to hold virtual educational program MAUMEE — The Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter will be presenting a variety of virtual educational programs to help the community and families impacted by the disease. These presentations cover a variety of topics and occur at different times during the day and evening via videoconferencing to allow individuals to participate in the convenience of their homes. They will discuss topics such as what is Alzheimer's disease, warning signs to look for, how to effectively communicate, how to manage behaviors and have difficult conversations, and review several strategies for legal and financial issues. We will even help you have a healthy brain!
