Rosie the Riveter hits the stage this weekend

NORWALK — Rosie the Riveter will hit the stage at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at St. Paul High School — both streaming live. Here are some quick facts about the play from director Theresa Barcus. 1.) How did you decide on Rosie the Riveter? The show was written by a talented friend of a friend, and it had a lot of parts for females. We have a lot of talented females at St. Paul's. 2.) When are the performances? Is it a musical? Performances are Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6 both streaming live at 7 p.m. Rosie the riveter is a play not a musical. Due to Covid restrictions, we thought it would be best to perform a play and it was something we hadn't done since I have been director. 3.) What blessings/challenges have come from this opportunity during the pandemic? Some of the challenges we've had to face is performing with facemasks, so not being able to always see facial expression. And overall abiding by Covid restrictions. However, we are very thankful to be able to perform when many schools still cannot. 4.) How are the students enjoying Rosie the Riveter? How do you feel about it? The students are doing a great job and have really embodied the essence of their characters. I think they have learned a lot about World War II and how it affected females whether they were wives mothers sisters or factory workers. 5.) Anything else you would like to add? Please share link to show info and how people can purchase a streaming code. I would also like to share a thank you to the students and the parents who make the large commitment to a performance.
