Spay/neuter clinic for Friday

NORWALK — The next transport to Humane Ohio will be Friday through the Huron County Humane Society. For the month of February, all cat slots have been filled. Still available is one small male dog and one small female, between 2 and 30 pounds. The other available appointments are for two large male dogs and one large female dog, between 46 to 55 pounds. The Huron County Humane Society has partnered with Humane Ohio, a high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter clinic, to provide monthly public transport for Huron County resident's cats and dogs. The first transport in January went well with 30 animals being spayed and neutered, said Darla Gow, the humane society's community development director. Humane Ohio will be doing the transport from the Norwalk Walmart parking lot. Drop off is in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon. The Huron County Humane Society will be handling the scheduling and payment for the chosen services. The humane society will be paying Humane Ohio a transport fee and will be charging a $5 fee in addition to the cost of chosen services. Payment is required at the time of scheduling. The humane society is open 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, 1-5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday.
