Huron County Community Library February programs

WILLARD — The Huron County Community Library has multiple programs for the month of February for patrons to enjoy. On Facebook, join Miss Mitzi and Miss Carolyn every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Friday at 11 a.m. for live storytime. Weekly grab and go kits are available at the Willard location. On Feb. 5, 15, 19 and Feb. 26, baby storytime will share sign language, songs, stories and fingerplays. At the Willard location, special kits are available for virtual programs with Miss Char. At 1 p.m. on Feb. 8, create a Valentine's Day card while Miss Char shares a story. At 6 p.m. Feb. 9, create a wooden sign and at 6 p.m. on Feb 10, Miss Char will be sharing a book and craft for the holiday. At 4 p.m. Feb. 17, join Miss Cathy painting a winter scene with epsom salt. For teen time at 4 p.m. on Mon. Feb. 8 make a mason jar Valentine's Day candy surprise and at 4 p.m. on Mon. Feb. 22 get a free tutorial from Miss Jo on how to crochet. The adult virtual Pinterest workshops can be found on Facebook Live and Youtube. Grab and go kits for each workshop can be picked up at our Willard, North Fairfield, Wakeman, and Greenwich locations while supplies last. At 6 p.m. Feb. 8 using Dollar Tree supplies, like a pizza pan, learn how to make a snowman wall hanging. At 6 p.m. Feb. 11 learn about Milton Hershey and the history behind chocolate and join Miss Judy to learn how to make hot chocolate bombs. The Busy Book Series continues in February on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Sign-up is required and kits are available at the Greenwich location. The "No Strings Attached" book selection at Greenwich for February is "Good Girls Lie" by J.T. Ellison and the "Inspirational Book Club" at North Fairfield has chosen "Mercy's Rain" by Cindy Sproles. Celebrate author Mo Willems at 8 p.m. Feb. 11 on Facebook Live. It's Mo Willem's Birthday and you are invited to celebrate with Miss Char. The program will feature stories, crafts, and more. Kits are available at the Willard location. February is Black History Month. At 6 p.m. on Feb. 22, they will discuss traditional spices. Pick up a kit and join Miss Judy for a unique cooking challenge. Join Miss Judy Willard's "Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club" on the last Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. On Feb. 24 the group will be sharing "Hope's Table" by Hope Helmuth.
