Fisher-Titus taking sign-ups for COVID-19 vaccine

NORWALK — Fisher-Titus is currently compiling an interest list online for those who would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. As outlined by the Ohio Department of Health, those who are prioritized for the next rounding of dosing include: • Those aged 65+• Those with congenital and early onset medical issues• Adults who are working in a school "Getting the COVID-19 vaccine is one more important step as we battle against this virus," said Brent Burkey, MD, president and CEO of Fisher-Titus. "I am encouraging the public to help us join the fight by getting the vaccine. We are all eager to get back to the life we knew before the pandemic and this is one more way to help us get there." Currently, Fisher-Titus will offer the vaccine by appointment only and will call those on the interest list in order of priority and registration. The first Fisher-Titus clinic the week of Jan. 18 will be dedicated those 80 and older; the second held the week of Jan. 25 will prioritize those with congenital and early onset medical issues. The week of Feb. 1 will begin with adults working in schools. As more information becomes available on the distribution to those outside of that criteria, Fisher-Titus will communicate this through their website, social media, and local media outlets. "We understand there is a lot of urgency around wanting the vaccine," Burkey said. "We ask for the community's patience and understanding as more vaccines become available. We will continue to provide communication as we receive more dosing." To be put on the interest list, please visit FisherTitus.org/coronavirus and fill out the COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Form. After filling out the form, a Fisher-Titus team member will call to schedule a date and time for vaccination.
