Norwalk Reflector on the move

NORWALK — The Norwalk Reflector has been part of this community for 190 years. The Reflector has moved, but that doesn't mean anything will change with the way we cover Norwalk, Huron County and the Milan-Berlin Heights area. Local news is what we do best. Your hometown newspaper for almost 200 years has moved to 34 E. Main Street, between Mossman Music and Flickinger Insurance. The building will be home to Tandem Media Network, the Norwalk Reflector and the Sandusky Register. "We're excited about the move," said Managing Editor Joe Centers, who has worked for the Reflector since 1979 and has been in charge of the newsroom since 2000. "With the printing moving out along with all of the production positions, the old building became too big for the staff." The Reflector has been at its present site at 61 E. Monroe St. since the early 1960s. The building recently was sold to Maple City Builders. "We are sure Jeff Hipp and everybody at Maple City Builders will do a great job with the building," Centers said. "We know it is in good hands. "It will be sad to leave the old building, but at the same time we are excited about moving to Main Street. We have written so many stories about Main Street and we know how important main street is to every city across America. "Most of the storefronts are full and that is a great sign. We are looking forward to working with all of our neighbors on Main Street and we are looking forward to doing what we do best — bringing all of the local news to our residents. "Stop in for a visit or to just say hi." The move is not complete. While everything is in the building and ready to go, we are finishing up with the final details. The office will be manned by Ron Simpson of the circulation department while everybody else will be working remotely for a couple of more days.
