Jerry Oney, Jan. 10, 1956 - March 21, 2020

KNOXVILLE, TENN. - Jerry Oney, 64, passed away at his home in Knoxville, Tenn., Saturday, March 21, 2020. He was born to Robert and Daisy Oney in Norwalk. Jerry was everyone's "go to" person when in need of a mechanic. He would do anything for anyone. Jerry was the ultimate storyteller and prankster. He had the ability to make everyone laugh at the small things in life. Jerry worked at the former Shellar-Globe Corp. in Norwalk and went on to work as the Norwalk City Schools bus mechanic. Following in his brother's footsteps, he moved to Atlanta and worked for various businesses as a mechanic. Due to ill health, he left Atlanta and moved to Knoxville with his daughter. Jerry leaves behind daughters, Callie (Tony) Horning of Knoxville, and Tiffany (Bryce) Smith of Olmstead, Falls, Ohio.; siblings, Nancy (Stan) Nickoli on Norwalk, Sue (Charlie) Gregor of Collins, Gary (Treva) Oney of Collins, and Larry (Carol) Oney of Flowery Branch, Ga.; several grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Scrappy. Jerry was preceded in death by the love of his life, Rosemary. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
