Humane society to have Roll It Forward rummage sale

NORWALK — The Huron County Humane Society is hosting a rummage sale fundraiser next month. The Roll It Forward Rummage Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 13 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at the Avery Commerce Park at 11001 U.S. 250 N in Milan. Lots of goodies have been accumulating in anticipation of this sale. Come find that perfect treasure while shopping to support the Huron County Humane Society. Mary Ann Hipp helped make this possible by allowing the use of the facility. The Huron County Humane Society is now accepting gently used donations to provide even more treasures for the event. The shelter will not be accepting TVs or computers. Please drop items off at the shelter during business hours, a news release states. The humane society is at 246 Woodlawn Ave. in Norwalk. The funds earned will help the humane society care for animals by providing temporary shelter, providing immediate and intensive veterinary medical care emphasizing spay and neuter; conducting outreach and education programs specifically teaching about the humane care of animals and to reinforce concepts of kindness and respect for all living creatures; enforcing animal welfare laws and conducting cruelty investigation and rescue by the only humane investigators in the county. Each year the Huron County Humane Society takes in hundreds of companion animals and successfully places many of them in loving homes. Events such as this allows the organization to continue to serve the residents and animals of Huron County. The humane society relies solely on private contributions.
