Milan woman convicted of sex crimes

A Milan woman has been convicted of two sex offenses as part of a plea deal in Huron County Common Pleas Court.Kristina M. Jordan, 24, most recently of 4106 E. Ohio 113, Milan, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The fourth-degree felonies are punishable by six to 18 months in prison. Jordan will be sentenced Aug. 8.As part of plea deal, prosecutors dismissed a third, similar charge.Jordan was living in Plymouth when the Huron County Sheriff's Office investigated the case, according to Norwalk Municipal Court records. She earlier posted a $10,000 bond. She is prohibited from having any contact with anyone non-family member younger than 18 and with anybody at a U.S. 224, Plymouth, residence.In other cases: • Owen J. Baker, 25, most recently of 104 E. Main St., North Fairfield, was sentenced Wednesday to a 90-day discretionary jail term and fined $250 for attempted tampering with evidence. His probation officer has the option of when to have him serve part or all of the sentence without a hearing during his three years of probation.• Stephanie A. Collins, 42, most recently of 223 1/2 Woodbine St., Willard, was sentenced Wednesday to complete a four- to six-month term in a community-based corrections facility (CBCF) for an undisclosed probation violation. Collins has been in jail since May 14. Her underlying conviction is possession of heroin. A CBCF is a form of prison which focuses on substance abuse treatment and education.• Pamela Pena, 30, most recently of 204 Chapman St., Bellevue, was sentenced Wednesday to complete a four- to six-month term in a CBCF for one count each of attempted tampering with evidence and possessing drug abuse instruments. She also was fined $250 as part of her three years of probation. Her convictions were for an Oct. 15 incident. Pena has been in jail since May 9.• Brian K. Sexton, 46, most recently of 3764 E. U.S. 224, Lot 44, Greenwich, was sentenced Wednesday to a 90-day discretionary jail term for a Dec. 8 burglary. Also as part of his three years of probation, he was fined $500 and must pay $554 in restitution. Deputies investigated the burglary.• Sonny C. Swiney, 48, most recently of 8 Senior Drive, Apt. 7, Greenwich, was sentenced Wednesday to 90 days in jail for an undisclosed probation violation. He has been in custody since June 18. Swiney's underlying conviction is trafficking in heroin for a 2015 controlled drug buy coordinated by the Willard Police Department. • Thomas C. Wells, 39, most recently of 2725 North St., New Haven, was sentenced Wednesday to 60 days in jail for an undisclosed probation violation. His underlying conviction is possession of heroin.
