BCS officials invite community to levy Q&A session

OAK HARBOR — Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools superintendent Guy Parmigian and treasurer Cajon Keeton invite community members and district staff to a levy Q & A meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday followed up by an opportunity for the press to ask questions and get answers. The session will occur at Oak Harbor High School, 11661 West Ohio 163, Oak Harbor, in "The Hub," formerly known as the media center. The levies on the May 8 ballot: • A five-year, one percent earned income tax levy. If approved, about $2 million will be generated for the district's daily operations, which include salaries, benefits, student activities and more. The levy is subject to be renewed, too.• A five-year, 3.89-mill operating levy, which is also subject to renewal. If approved by voters, the owner of a $100,000 home would pay an additional $136 per year to generate about $1.4 million annually, also for the district's day-to-day operations.District administrators will also talk about the impact of the recent "BCS Bridge" legislation, the connection between Davis-Besse and the school district and more.
