Ontario pounces on Norwalk

ONTARIO — From bad to worse. Tre Fowler returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, and visiting Norwalk fumbled the ball away to host Ontario on its first snap of the game. The Warriors scored on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Sean Tanner to Cardae Brown, and they had a 14-0 lead just 50 seconds into Friday's 58-0 win over the Truckers. On its next possession, Ontario got a 23-yard TD pass from Tanner to Fowler to make it 23-0 less than four minutes into the game. Fowler's impressive first quarter continued when he intercepted an Ayden Hudson-Brown pass. That set up Max Ciroli's 17-yard TD run for a 29-0 lead a the 3:08 mark of the first quarter. Tanner was 7 of 11 passing for 127 yards and threw three TD passes. Ciroli scored twice on the ground. Gavin Miller and Mark Porter each added TDs on the ground. Freshman Brysen Risner ran 15 times for 60 yard to pace Norwalk, while sophomore Lyric Shipp added 50 yards on 17 attempts and recovered a fumble on defense. The Truckers did not complete a pass in the game. The Warriors also scored two points on a safety and recovered two fumbles with the two interceptions. Norwalk will visit Mansfield Madison (1-1) on Sept. 4 for a Week 3 non-conference matchup.
