4-H was in parade, discussed fair

Editor's note: The 4-Leaf Clovers 4-H hosted activities and recent meetings. Here is a recap of each, some of which were written before the events they mention: * June 14, 2026 On June 14, the 4-Leaf Clovers 4H meeting was held at the American Legion in Norwalk. We held a short meeting to determine our float theme for the July 4 parade in Norwalk. Our theme this year is Birthday Party in the USA. We will be decorating the float on July 2 and walking in the parade on July 4. During this meeting we also made patriotic placements for the Veterans at the Veterans Home and held a Flag Retirement Ceremony. Thank you to the American Legion for allowing us to come and take part in this ceremony at their facility! July 30, 2026 On July 30 the 4-Leaf Clovers 4H meeting was held at the Fisher Titus Carriage House in Norwalk as part of our community service outreach. We held a short meeting with the residents. The meeting was called to order by Caitlyn, Pledge of Allegiance was led by Meriella, and role call was stating one project the member was taking to the Huron County Fair and what was the member's best memory of the fair. Announcements included reminders of our final meeting on Aug. 2 where fair passes will be distributed, and the Ohio State Fair is going on until Aug. 9. Project deadlines were also discussed for upcoming fair items. Committee Reports included a News Report update from Tanner, Health and Safety tip to be fire safe from Catherine, Recycling by Evie will be discussed in detail at our final meeting, and Community Service with Celia was making s'mores with the residents at the Carriage House today. We discussed that the 4th of July parade went well and had great participation for old business. New business included recognizing the State Fair participants. The following members were selected to participate in the State Fair: Viola with Quilting The Best Better and em*bel*lish, Arianna with Knitting It Together, Lily with Looking Great for Less, Audrey with Let's Start Cooking. Awesome job and Congratulations! Reminders to bring 4H Project books to our final meeting on Aug. 2nd provided to members. After the meeting was adjourned, we had an amazing time making s'mores and talking with the residents at the Carriage House. Thank you to the Carriage House for allowing us to come and spend time with the residents! Aug. 2, 2026 On Aug. 2 the 4-Lear Clovers 4H meeting was held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. The meeting was called to order by Caitlyn, Pledge of Allegiance was led by Harper, and roll call for members was favorite Grandstand event during the fair. Announcements included Rabbit Skillathon and make up dates, Huron County Fair check-in and dates for the fair (Aug. 17-22), Stock the Trailer event and project pick up dates. Information on judging times and where to find out what time each member's judging is was discussed. Cloverbuds were dismissed and Viola discussed the minutes from the previous meeting, and a treasurer report was provided by Lily. Committee Reports included a News Report from Tanner, Health and Safety tip to never run with a VR set was provided by Ben, and Community Service update from Celia included positive feedback from the Carriage House event on July 30. Old business discussed were reminders and formal reporting for the Carriage House event, T-shirt pick up, and the 4th of July parade. New business included information for judging appearance, manners, talking, and fair etiquette. We also discussed the recycling project and sign up, project book checks, Stock the Trailer project, and Battle of the Barns event. After the meeting was adjourned, the Cloverbuds demonstrated making trail mix to the whole group. This has been a really fun year and we have all worked so hard!
