Full Throttle Cheer Co. celebrates grand opening

NORWALK — Local athletes now have a new place to train following the grand opening of Full Throttle Cheer Co., a competitive cheerleading facility at 71 N. West St. The center offers cheerleading instruction, tumbling, strength training, stunt development and competitive team opportunities for athletes beginning at age 3. The business is described as Norwalk's first training facility dedicated specifically to competitive cheerleading. Owners Malorie Kocher and Madison Shutt said they opened Full Throttle Cheer Co. to give area athletes access to training closer to home. Their goal is to create a positive environment where participants can pursue their athletic goals, form lasting friendships and develop confidence and discipline. The facility serves beginners learning the fundamentals of cheerleading as well as experienced athletes seeking advanced competition training. Camps and other special events also are planned throughout the year. Norwalk Mayor Dave Light attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and praised the number of families, friends and community supporters who attended. "It was one of the largest ribbon-cutting events I have ever attended," Light said. "This is an amazing addition to our community, and I am sure it will be a great success." Enrollment is open.
