Alumni host banquet

NEW LONDON — The 140th New London Alumni Association banquet was held in the cafetorium of the school June 20, with 130 alumni, family and friends attending. Eric Ebinger served as emcee for the evening and was also a member of the organization committee, along with Kitty Sutherland, Jane Lavengood, Laura Landis, Pam Boss, Marla Helms and Jonna Rowland. New London Superintendent Brad Romano discussed highlights of the past year, including a visit from Governor DeWine, a new food pantry at the Community Outreach Building and a new stadium. This next year will see new playground equipment, a GED program and the establishment of an EHOVE manufacturing and culinary arts curriculum on campus. Several individuals were honored during the evening, including Class of 2026 members Hailie Pylant, Emilee Loescher, Carlee Hess and Presley Ferguson, who received the association's scholarships. Also honored was the 50-year class of 1976 and the most senior members in attendance, Delaurice Bilton Cooke, Class of 1941; Norma Bailey Bilton, Class of 1946; Vaughn Neel, Class of 1948; and Lois Fetterman Neel, Class of 1950. Entertainment was provided by Debbie Cagle Green, invocation given by Toby Thomas, presentation of colors done by Boy Scout Troop 217 and assistance with the dinner by Girl Scout Troop 50123. Catering by Design provided the meal.
