Silver King festival returns for 36th year

PLYMOUTH — Antique tractors, farm equipment and local history will be on display when the 36th Annual Silver King Festival & Show returns to Plymouth this summer. The event is scheduled for July 31, Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 at Mary Fate Park, 200 Sandusky St., Plymouth. Hours are listed as 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Plymouth Mayor Cassaundra Fryman said the event is expected to bring several thousand people to the village over the course of the weekend. Fryman said the show also remains an important piece of Plymouth's manufacturing history. The show is organized by the Silver Kings of Yesteryear Tractor Club and welcomes all brands of antique tractors and farm-related equipment. The event will feature tractors, farm equipment, vendors, food, entertainment, raffle items, 50/50 drawings, a kiddie pedal pull and a parts swap meet, according to event materials. The show also highlights Silver King, Plymouth, Fate, Root and Heath memorabilia, tying the event to Plymouth's local manufacturing heritage. Activities listed for the weekend include a pedal pull for children 14 and younger at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, a community church service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, and a baked goods auction planned for Sunday afternoon. Event materials also list food options throughout the weekend, including breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings though participating vendors.
