W. Main Street work continues

NORWALK — Work is continuing on the W. Main Street Phase 2 Reconstruction project, with sanitary sewer work underway and traffic restrictions in place. According to a June 8 project update from the City of Norwalk, the contractor has mobilized to the site and implemented local traffic and truck detours. Crews also began installing new sanitary sewer service connections along W. Main Street. Over the next two weeks, crews are scheduled to continue installing the sanitary sewer service connections. The contractor is also expected to begin installing new storm sewer once the connecting service lines are completed and the necessary precast structures have been delivered to the site, according to the update. Traffic impact W. Main Street is closed to through traffic between Valley Park Drive and N. Garfield Avenue. Local access will be maintained. The city is asking drivers to use caution through the work zone and follow posted detour signs, traffic control devices and flagger directions. Additional information will be provided as the project progresses and future phases begin.
