Co-champion Edison puts four on Bay first team

Four regulars for the Edison softball team, which shared the Bay Division championship with Margaretta, earned a spot on the All-Sandusky Bay Conference first team. The league announced the voting results on May 20. Earning first team included pitcher Abby Cloud, infielder Stella Brown, and outfielders Natalie Desautels and Peyton Bissell. Cloud was 12-4 with a 4.45 earned run average through 20 games for Edison. She had 92 strikeouts in 113 1/3 innings of work. Brown hit .314 with five doubles, three triples, and 18 RBIs, while Desautels batted .468 with a double and 10 RBIs. Bissell hit .318 with five doubles, one triple, and 14 RBIs. Earning second team included infielders Peyton Taylor (.388, four doubles, three home runs, 24 RBIs) and Lariah McMinn (.293, two doubles, two triples, 11 RBIs) for the Chargers. Catcher Macari Harris was honorable mention. Willard's Natalie Slone earned a spot on the first team infield. She hit .484 with seven doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 22 RBIs and scored 43 times in 22 games for the Crimson Flashes. Pitcher Ava Deel and catcher Kenley Bond were both honorable mention for Willard, which went 12-10 this season after winning five games the previous three years combined. Margaretta senior Cassidy Lane was named the Most Outstanding Performer in the Bay.
