A new-look New London

New London's downtown will be getting a facelift next year, and an open house concerning the project took place in the Hileman Building on May 1. The project is going through the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the agency's representatives attended the event to answer questions and present information, along with village administrator Shawn Pickworth and other officials. Pickworth said the project will result in new sidewalks, lighting and street improvements, and the $2 million price tag will be paid by the state transportation department. Business owners can apply for funding for improvements to their buildings through the Ohio Department of Development. Pickworth said he is really excited about the project, "which the downtown has needed for many, many years." Attendees were given forms to fill out for questions, comments and opinions.
