TOLEDO — A deceased male who was found Monday afternoon underneath the Anthony Wayne Bridge near the river was confirmed to be a teenager who was reported missing in Huron County.

Damian Henning, 17, had been last seen on Nov. 9, according to the Huron County Sheriff’s Office. His identity was confirmed Wednesday by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

Dr. Diane Scala-Barnett, Lucas County coroner, said the teen’s autopsy showed extensive internal blunt force injuries, and those findings coupled with the investigation point to the youth jumping from the bridge. His death will be ruled a suicide once the toxicology is complete, she told The Blade.

At about 2:24 p.m. Monday, Toledo police responded to the 500 block of Boers-Boyer Way on a report of a deceased person found. According to Toledo police, the teen’s vehicle was also found within the immediate vicinity of the scene.
