Man shares special Cajun recipe

Kevin Young was happy to share his recipe for chicken and sausage jambalaya.

“I like Cajun cooking,” he said. “I do a lot of the cooking at home during the week from Monday to Thursday.

“I probably make this dish three to four times per year,” Young added.

Young is the broker at the Century 21 Premiere Properties office in Norwalk.

He also enjoys grilling and smoking food.

“Things like ribs, brisket and pulled pork,” Young said.

Nothing is better than a home-cooked meal, he said.

“With restaurants being so expensive, I enjoy cooking at home,” Young said. 

If the family does go out to eat, sushi or walleye is often the choice.

“I like sushi — not cooked — and I really like fresh fish,” Young said.

He described many of the essentials the Young family always has in the refrigerator.

“Eggs, sausage and bacon,” he said. “I like breakfast food.

“Also, vegetables, things like brussel sprouts, asparagus and sald,” Young added. “Tomatoes and even some frozen fish. Things where we can quickly put a meal together.”

Young, who is also the broker for the Century 21 office in Pepper Pike near Cleveland, has been in either the real estate business or some aspect of commercial development and construction for about 40 years.

“My background really is in commercial real estate,” he said.

He likes the team of agents assembled in Norwalk and loves the Maple City.

“Norwalk has been phenomenal,” Young said. “Business has been very good and we have great agents in this office. I love this community.”

Young stressed the importance of technology in today’s market and added that was why the new office was constructed with cutting-edge technology.

“Century 21 offers a lot of technology other companies do not,” he said. “We’ve also taken that a step further.”

One of the goals is to make the process of selling a home totally paperless.
