HURON — The international smash hit “Blood Brothers” closes out the 2017-2018 Caryl Crane Youth Theatre Season at BGSU Firelands, April 26-28, 2018.

Led by two-time Best Actress award winner Gracie Keener, “Blood Brothers” tells the captivating and moving story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be reunited by a twist of fate and a mother’s haunting secret. The memorable score includes A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe, and the emotionally charged hit, Tell Me It’s Not True.

When Mrs Johnstone, a young mother deserted by her husband and left to provide for seven hungry children, takes a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet. It is not long before her brittle world crashes around her when she discovers herself to be pregnant – this time with twins. In a moment of weakness and desperation, she enters a secret pact with her employer, which leads inexorably to the show’s shattering climax.

Directed by Brian Marshall and featuring members of Caryl Crane Youth Theatre’s award-winning Competition Team (Best Production, iTheatrics’ JTF 2018), Blood Brothers is not to be missed.

Keener, a 2018 high school senior and seven-year member of BGSU Firelands College’s Caryl Crane Youth Theatre, received back-to back Best Actress Awards at the iTheatrics’ Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta for the roles of Ida in “Honk!” (2017) and Rafiki in Disney’s “The Lion King” (2018).

Keener has also been selected by JTF2018 to record two new Broadway Jr. Cast Albums as part of Music Theatre International’s Choreography DVD program! In the Fall Gracie will attend The University of Albany where she will study Musical Theatre.

“Blood Brothers” will be her final show at Caryl Crane Youth Theatre.
